Contra Dances on
4th Saturdays in Kingston and
1st Thursdays in Dover
New Hampshire
2003-2004
Yes, the Dancing Cat dances have moved from Dover to Kingston starting with the dance on October 26, 2002. While we have many warm memories of Dover, the cost of renting the hall was too high and in order to continue the dance series, it was necessary to find a new location. The dances will continue to be held usually on the 4th Saturday of the month, at the Kingston, New Hampshire Town Hall at 163 Main Street in Kingston. Directions to the Kingston Town Hall can be found at the bottomo of this page.
There is a dessert potluck and beginner's workshop at 8pm with the contradance starting at 8:30pm and ending at 11:30pm. Admission is $8 and $6 with student ID. For more information, please call (603) 679-5448 or e-mail galetwood@earthlink.net. Please bring clean shoes for dancing, and remember...a dancing cat is a happy cat.
In addition to the Dancing Cat dances, the Lamprey River Band hosts a series of dances on the 1st Thursday of the month. Dances are from 8:00 pm to 10:40 pm at the Dover City Hall with a cost of $6/person. Please dance in clean, soft soled shoes only. For more information, call (603) 664-2513 or (603) 487-2834.
